"I'll be right back with your wine, Sir." Jason gives a slight nod and turns and walks away.

"Andrew, I didn't want a salad."

"Well, guess what that's just too fucking bad. You don't need all those carbs anyway. You need to watch your weight."

I think to myself, fuck this is going to be a bad night. He's always terrible when he drinks. Jason comes back bringing the bottle of wine, uncorks it and pours a glass for Andrew lets him taste it then pours a glass for me, and then says he will be back with our food as soon as it is ready.

When the food comes I give Jason a polite smile, but when he walks away I guess I have made Andrew mad.

"What the fuck do you think you’re doing? Sitting over there being a whore, and flirting with the waiter. Is that why you wore that dress? To draw attention to yourself." His face is starting to turn red from his anger.

I look at him shocked "I wasn't doing anything. I was just being polite, and no I wore it for you, to look good for you."

He stands up and grabs ahold of my arm, "Zoey, let's go now! I'm not sitting here with you anymore." I try to pull my arm free but it's no use, he tightens his hold, he's too strong. I tell him quietly that he is hurting me but he doesn't care. I look back to see Jason standing there glaring at Andrew, then he looks at me and I see the concern in his eyes. Andrew drops money on the table and basically drags me out of there. When we get in the truck he starts yelling at me about the waiter, me questioning him, and my hair. Andrew doesn't like change, this is why he has had the same look to him since I met him. He pulls onto the highway and I keep trying to tell him I didn't do anything wrong. He pulls over on the side of the road and turns to me. I can see the rage in his eyes. I know what's about to happen. "Please, don't do this Andrew. I'm sorry I won’t do it again. Please." I whisper to him, but it’s no use. There’s no way around what’s about to happen.

I see him make a fist and draw back his arm, I flinch, then try to shield my face, but it doesn't help. He hits me in the side of my head, it's hard and hurts. He doesn't stop there, he just keeps hitting me over, and over again. I try fighting back, I throw my fist and open hand slaps, and I claw at him with my fingernails, anywhere and everywhere I could reach. I fight with everything I have in me, but nothing helps. He's just too strong and so much bigger than me. I start crying, I don't like to show weakness but I can't help it. I start begging, "Andrew, Please, Stop! You’re hurting me! Please, just stop!" But he doesn't, the punches just keep coming. I feel them everywhere, my face, head, arms, legs, and stomach anywhere he can hit he does. I can feel the blood running over my face. I'm pretty sure he busted my head open. My eyes feel wet, they sting a little, and I have a coppery in my mouth. I'm sure my lips are busted too. Fuck, it's never been this bad. I don't know how long he's been hitting me. It feels like it's been hours, but it's probably only been minutes. Suddenly, I don't feel anything, and I think it's over. Nope, I was wrong. I feel his body lean over me, he reaches out his arm, I hear the door open, and then he's pushing me out of his truck. I grab onto his arms but he pry’s my hands free then I'm falling. I feel my body hit the cold hard asphalt. I can feel little pieces of gravel dig into my legs and the palms of my hands, then the back of my head hits the road. I hear the squealing of tires and I know he just sped away. Leaving me, laying on the side of the road to die. I can't move, my whole body hurts from all the punches I took and the fall from the truck, and my eyes are swollen shut. How did my life turn into this? I just have to lay here and wait. Hoping somebody will help me but then the blackness takes over.

I'm sitting at the bar in the clubhouse about to take my shot of Jack Daniels Single Barrel when my best friend/ VP Gunner comes and sits next to me. "We ride out in five, Hanger. I hope this shit gets settled tonight." We have been best friends our whole lives and he can pull in as much pussy as me. He's not as tall as I am but he's a good six foot, his hair is long on top and shaved off on the sides’ and is a blondish brown with a beard about the same color. The chicks dig his blue eyes. One look at 'em and he's got 'em crawling at his feet. He's solid muscle that comes with one helluva punch and he's my right hand man.

"Me too, Brother. I wanna find out what the fuck is going on and who is doin’ it." I take my shot of Single Barrel and head outside, to get on my one and only love. She is beautiful. She’s a 2010 FLSTN Softail Deluxe, with chrome ape hanger bars, she’s Candy Apple Red, with metallic black flames going up the sides of her gas tank. All my brothers are here ready to go, but the prospects will be staying behind to watch over the clubhouse. I get on start her up and head out. We jump on the highway heading into the city, we gotta meet up with the Cobras and see if they have any information for us.

We get there in thirty, Snake the President meets us at the gate of their compound, he looks up and has one of his prospects open it for us to head inside. We've never had problems with the Cobras before, but if shit doesn't get figured out we might start. When we park our bikes he leads the way into the clubhouse. I follow him to his office, leaving my guys in the bar; when we get there he shuts the door behind us and takes his seat behind the desk. I take a seat across from him and we get right down to business. I don’t have time to beat around the bush I got shit to do.

"Snake, you know my pushers aren't bringing in the money they should be. Someone is taking from me and I wanna know who the fuck it is."

"I haven't heard anything about it yet, but I have it narrowed down to either a new club in town, trying to take over, or it's the Italian mob. You still got Romeo working at
Gremaldi's
?"

"Yeah, I still got him in there and he'll stay there until he finds somethin’."

"Hanger, I figure whoever is messing with your shit is the same as the ones running guns on mine. They’re taking from me as well. We gotta work together to figure out who the fuck it is, but we gotta be smart about it and take them down."

"Alright, Snake. Let’s just keep each other informed, but I'm telling you now, you don't wanna fuck with me. If I find out that it's your guys, I’m coming after you and there won't be a Cobras M.C. left when I get done. I will destroy you. Yeah?"

"Yeah." I hope for his sake it's not his club doing this.

We shake, sit and talk about some other business. When everything is settled it's time for us to leave. We’re on the highway headed back and we’re not too far from our exit when I spot something on the side of the road. It doesn't look right to me. I give the signal for the guys to slow down and we all pull over onto the side of the road. I get off my bike, grab my flashlight out of my saddlebag, and walk slowly up to see what it is. Fuck, if it's not the worst thing I've ever seen. Growing up in the most notorious M.C. in Kansas I’ve seen a lot of fucked up shit. Kneeling down keeping the light on her. I check her pulse to make sure she's still alive. I look around, she doesn't have a purse or anything, so I can't find out who she is. I look back and yell, "Gunner, get over here right fuckin’ now."

"What's up, Prez?" I turn and look at him, that's when he sees her.

"Prez, what the fuck is that?" I look at him like he's a fuckin' idiot.

"Gunner, you’re not that fuckin’ stupid. You see what the fuck it is." He looks at me. "What are we gonna do with her?"

"You need to go get my truck. Don't forget the ramp, and ratchet straps so we can load up my bike. We are takin’ her with us and gonna have Doc check her out."

"Do you think that's a good idea, we don't even know who she is?"

"Don't question me, Gunner, just go get my fuckin' truck. Have the boys follow you, I'll wait here with her." They all leave and I just sit here and stare at this poor girl. She's so fucked up. I can't tell what she looks like. Her hair is covered, and matted with blood, but I can see some blonde.

I don't know how long I've been sitting here, but I look up and see my truck. So I stand up, with the girl in my arms and walk over to my truck. I lay her gently in the back seat. Then help Gunner load my bike. I have Gunner drive so I can sit in the back with her. We get back to the clubhouse and Gunner lets me know he made all the club whores leave. I thank him, then I get out, take her in my arms, and go inside.

I head straight for my room and shut my door with my foot, and I lay her on the bed. There's a soft knock on the door. "Who is it?" The door opens just wide enough for Doc to stick his head in, I tell him to come in. He is our clean cut brother, came from the Army. Clean shaved face, buzz cut, no tats you can see. He is just as tall as the rest of us and packed with muscle, his jaw is set hard and firm. When you look into his dark green eyes you can see something is haunting him rather it's from his days in the army or something else, I don't know. I won’t ask. It's not our way, if he wants to talk he can come to me, until then I'll let it be.

"Gunner, said you need me."

"Yeah, I'm gonna need you to look at her." I point to the girl lying in my bed and he says. "God damn, Hanger. What the hell happened to her?"

"I don’t know, Doc. We were on the highway and I spotted her on the side of the road. You think she’s gonna be alright?"

"Let me check her out real quick.” He checks her over. “Her vitals look good. Most of the cuts aren't very deep, except the two on her head. They are gonna need some stitching but other than that she should be alright. She needs to be cleaned up, and get some different clothes put on. She'll be in a lot of pain when she wakes up. I can give her some pain meds and a sedative, when she needs it." He pulls out the thread and needle from his little doctor bag I didn’t notice before, then starts stitching up her head.

"Thanks Doc. When you are done will you send Chatty in? She's the only one I'll trust cleaning her up." He leaves, then there's another knock on the door. Chatty walks in. She looks at the bed, then looks at me. She has a shocked look on her face but I can see the pain in her eyes. "Hanger, what happened to her? This poor girl. What do you need from me?"

"Chatty, I don't know what happened. I found her like this on the side of the road. I need you to clean her up and put some different clothes on her. I don't trust anybody else to do it. You gotta be gentle with her." She doesn't say anything as she walks into my bathroom and comes back with a large bowl of warm water, and a few washcloths. "I will use one of your shirts to put on her, and I'll be as gentle as I can."

"I'll be back when you’re done." I say as I'm walking out of my door.

I make my way to the bar and get a Stone Arrogant Bastard Ale from Bam Bam, when I hear the front door open and in walks Romeo. He comes over and sits next to me. I get him a Dogfish Head, and grab my baggie outta my pocket. I line two rails, roll up a bill. I do one and pass the bill to Romeo. He does his then I ask. "How was your shift at
Gremaldi's
? Did you find anything?"

"No, I didn't find shit, but I think they are starting to trust me. I've got someone there that I'm getting close to."

"Oh yeah? Who's that?"

"Her name is Giovanna, her uncle is Antonio, the owner of
Gremaldi's
. She's starting to notice things about her family that she doesn't like."

"Don't let pussy cloud your judgment, Romeo. Be careful when it comes to that girl."

"The pussy is good, but I know what my job is. I'll get it done, Hanger."

"Okay." We continue to sit there when he starts talking about the rest of his night.
