“I want you so bad, but I’m scared. I feel like a part of me is going to clam up, but I don’t want it to always be like that with you. I don’t want it to be like that. I want to feel you. I really do, but I don’t know if I can stop myself from going back to that night.”

“So, let me help you fight it. Let me help you not go back there ever again. Let me do it my way. Our way.”

She regarded me uncertainly. “I don’t know.”

“Do you trust me?”

“With my soul,” she said with no hesitation.

I stood up, and reached for her hand. I knew where we needed to go to fight her demons.

Emmalin

Our car pulled outside of a familiar house. A house I had only been to one time. I nervously glanced over at Grayson before looking back at the house. "Here?"

He nodded.

I looked down at my clothes. A pair of jeans and my oversized sweater with the hole. Not exactly appropriate for this place, considering what everyone was or wasn’t wearing the last time I was here. "But I'm not wearing white."

He reached over and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "They know who you belong to. Trust me." He got out of the car and came over to my side, opening the door. I shakily reached for his hand. The elderly lady at the front smiled as we entered.

"Mr. Mandrake, Ms. Ross. Lovely to see you." She smiled kindly.

"Juno, pleasure, as always." Grayson pulled me closer to his side as we walked toward the back, to the elevators that automatically opened as we arrived. I was nervous on the way down. As soon as the door opened, I sucked in a deep breath, and briefly hesitated as we started walking out. I started to play with the hole in my sweater and moved to walk behind Grayson. He slowed down, and glanced behind at me, slightly frowning. He lifted my chin so I had to look at him. "Hey. You don't cower when you're with me, do you hear me?”

I nervously swallowed as I looked around the room, and I tugged on my sweater. In the corner, was a woman with a body of a model. I bet she didn't have any faded bruises on her body that were done out of pure hate. She looked like a fucking goddess, as she stood there with her long jet black hair, almond shaped eyes, and silk lingerie that left little to the imagination.

“I’m just a little self-conscious and nervous.”

He kissed the top of my head. “You’re safe here. And so fucking beautiful. Don’t ever forget that.” He grabbed my hand, leading me through the hall. People walked past us, giving us both respectable nods. For some reason, this all seemed different than the last time I was here. None of the men had that greedy-like look as before. This time it was a nod, as if they were showing me some kind of respect. We finally made our way to Grayson’s room.

“Would you like anything? Something to eat or drink, perhaps? I can have anything you’d like brought up. Anything is at your service here, ranging from whatever you like. From the simplest— such as a bowl of cereal— to the most complex.”

“Like what?” I gazed at him inquisitively.

He shrugged, walking toward me, and started kneading my shoulders. “Purple yams.” He lifted my arms to remove my sweater, and I smiled.

“Yams aren’t complex.”

“The purple ones probably are.” He wiggled his brows as he unbuttoned my jeans and slowly pulled them down. I felt trepidation starting to kick in slightly, as he started to back me into the St. Andrews Cross.

“Did you know that the mummy of King Ramses II was sent to France in the 70’s, and he needed a passport? For his occupation, they put King. Deceased.”

I let out a giggle. Then I started laughing. “You and your useless trivia.”

He bent down and kissed me lightly on the lips. “Thank you, and it worked. You’re all strapped in, babe.”

I looked down. I was strapped in and didn’t even realize it. Damn, he worked fast.

“I want you to focus on me, and only me, okay? My movements, my thoughts, nothing else. Understand?” I slowly nodded. He pushed my hair back from my face as he adjusted the cross, and it started to move. He moved behind me, getting whatever he needed from the closet. All of a sudden, the lights dimmed.

I worked on steadying my breathing. Last time, I was blindfolded. Was he going to blindfold me again? Was he going to use that drug again to relax me? I sure as hell could use it right about now to calm down. I took another deep breath as I began to move again.

Something soft moved across my back, and my skin prickled.

“Who owns your pleasure?” he whispered in my ear.

“You do,” I murmured.

“But that hasn’t been the case lately, has it? You’ve been holding back from me, haven’t you?”

I noted the different tone in his voice. This wasn’t the at home Grayson that I was familiar with. This wasn’t the calm, collected, and cool Grayson. This was the dominant Grayson. The Grayson that commanded even more attention; who was going to break me, and oh, how I wanted him to break me.

“Haven’t you?” he asked again.

“Yes.”

I felt his body heat leave my back, and I whimpered at his sudden disappearance. The lights shut off completely, leaving just the glow of a few red bulbs that lit up around me. Grayson now walked around in complete shadow. The room filled with music suddenly and I recognized the tune of

“Let’s begin.”

I looked over the way his voice came from, but wasn’t sure over the music. Suddenly, I felt the strands of a flogger across my abdomen and I yelped out, taken by surprise. Three more lashes struck me before I felt Grayson’s mouth latch onto my pussy, and I screamed out. I couldn’t even reach out to touch him since I was restricted. He moved away from me just as quickly and retreated back into the shadows.

“I need you, Emmalin.” I tried looking to see where he was standing, but couldn’t see over the red lights. I felt the St. Andrews cross beginning to turn in a full circle.

“Grayson.”

A lash hit me on the back, and I gasped. This one didn’t feel like the flogger. It had a flatter end. I couldn’t quite make out what it was. I felt his mouth enclose around my nipple, and I moaned. “I like that sound,” he rasped. His hands roamed up and down my body, and I felt myself starting to go languid and wanton. One of his hands reached up and around my neck, and I started to freeze.

I want you to think of me, every time he fucks you.

“Stop it, Emmalin!” Grayson backed away from me, delivering several more hits, including some light slaps on my pussy. I was panting hard now. His mouth claimed mine, kissing me hard, and I moaned in his mouth; his erection grinding against my stomach. His hand tightened in my hair, controlling every movement, and I gave in.

His hand trailed down my stomach slowly until he reached my mound. “Mmm. There it is,” he whispered against my lips. “My pussy is wet.”

I whimpered as his hand gently stroked through my wet folds. “But we both know I prefer you wetter. Dripping. Isn’t that right?”

I nodded, getting completely lost in the sensation of his fingers. Grayson bent down, pulling a nipple into his mouth. I threw my head back as he lightly bit down. He dropped down the rest of my body and unfastened my legs, wrapping them around him, with his cock hovering at my entrance. I wanted him so achingly bad.

I want you to think of me, every time he fucks you.

“Are you in your head, baby?”

I shook my head as a fresh set of tears started to wash over me. “I need you.”

He leaned into my neck, sucking it hard before biting. “Who owns you?”

“You, just you.”

He slowly started to sink in, but just an inch.

I want you to think of me, every time he fucks you.

“Look at me, Emmalin. Look at my face. I want you to see me, and no one else. Do you hear me?”

I want you to think of me, every time he fucks you.

My eyes snapped closed.

“Get. The. Fuck. Out. Of. Your. Head,” he said through gritted teeth. Grayson leaned down and bit my shoulder, and I gasped. “Look at me. You only look at me and hear me. No one else and nothing else. Focus on me.”

I nodded, as my eyes filled with tears, and he licked a fallen tear. “I’ll keep you here all night, tied up. You know I will. Fight it, Emmalin. Fight him. Don’t let that son of a bitch win. Don’t let him defeat you.” He inched in more, and I moaned, panting hard.

“Don’t let him take your mind. Don’t let him take your body. This is my fucking body, not his. You take me, dammit!”

He was more than halfway in now. He held my face firm as I focused solely on him, and I blocked every thought of that night from swimming back up.

“That’s right, baby, drown it out. Feel me. Drown it out. You and me, remember? Our love is stronger than this. You and me.”

I nodded, trying to push it all down. We were both covered in a sheen of sweat.

“Feel. Me,” Grayson said one last time before he thrusted all the way in, and I gasped, not taking my eyes off him. He stilled, and the only sound was the blood rushing through my ears. Grayson didn’t move a muscle. It felt like an ocean of waves had finally departed, and I finally took a deep breath, suddenly feeling calm. Serene even. He started to move achingly slow, to get me acclimated.

It had been so long since we felt each other, it was almost like the first time. His eyes penetrated mine deeply like he was trying to see into my soul.

“If I do this,” his hand reached up to my neck and he applied light pressure, “I’m claiming you, because you’re mine. Never to hurt you. Understand?”

I nodded as his pelvis bone grinded against my clit. “If I want to call you angel, you don’t shut down on me. It’s because I’m claiming you. Claiming you is my right. It’s never to hurt you. Understand?”

I nodded as his pelvis grinded into my clit again, sending another bolt of pleasure through me. He had me close. So fucking close, and fuck I needed it.

“Whose body is this?” He reached down and started rubbing my clit and I cried out.

“Yours.”

“Whose pussy is this?”

Fuck, I was nearly there, as his rubbing got harder. “Yours.”

“Are you in your head, baby?”

I could see him straining to hold back. He wanted to go over, just as badly as I did. I pulled his bottom lip with my teeth and he groaned. “You’re in my head,” I panted out.

“Fuck, baby, come!”

I leaned my head back as I shattered around him. He leaned forward, biting the column of my neck, as he chased his own orgasm. I squeezed him with everything I had as I gripped my restraints tighter.

“You’re in my head. You’re in my head. You’re in my head,” I continuously whispered, over and over again, as he reached up and untied each arm, wrapping them around his neck. He carried us to the bed across the room, laying us down gently.

He softly kissed and licked each tear that was streaming down my face, as I continued whispering ‘you’re in my head.’ I kept whispering, while he cleaned us up.

He leaned over me, deepening our kiss. I pulled back slightly. “Thank you.”

He moved on top of me, already hard, as he nudged my legs further apart. He aligned himself up to my entrance, and thrusted in, right when he leaned down to kiss me, and I gasped, wrapping my legs around him with the need to pull him closer. He clasped both of our hands together, before peering down at me.

“Welcome back.”

We were gradually trying to get our life back in order. I still had to see a counselor twice a week, but we were working on getting our sex life back in order. That night at Tesh changed everything for me. It helped tremendously. We weren’t screwing like rabbits like we used to, but we were having some intimacy, and I wasn’t struggling to get through it.

Going out in public was still a struggle and a scare for me. If Grayson wasn’t with me, then I needed someone with me at all times, and I honestly hated that. I felt like I needed some kind of protection with me. Carson was dead, yes, so he couldn’t hurt me. Ashley was locked away, but I was still scared.

I was told that this was a normal part of my healing process. I’d eventually get over it, but it wasn’t soon enough. Sometimes I couldn’t go out at all, and other days, I was completely fine. My phone beeped to an incoming text.

Chace: Just got here. I told Alistair I’d take you home

I looked around the restaurant as I sipped my water. I was meeting Chace for lunch. My first time really seeing him since everything happened. He walked over to our table in the back, and I silently laughed at the way everyone looked at him. His hair was blond, although these days, it was looking darker. He had broad shoulders; very muscular, and tanned. He was sexy. And the best friend of the man I was in love with. He leaned down, giving me a kiss on the top of my head.

“Sorry I’m late, honey cream.”

I crinkled my brow. “Honey cream?”

“Oh, Emmalin. Are you asking me to taste your honey cream?” He cocked an eyebrow as he leaned back in his chair, eyeing me lazily.

My mouth slightly hung open. “I physically want to throw up right now. Do you really pick up women that way? If so, I am sordidly disappointed in all women if they swoon over that bullshit.”

He smiled wide and shrugged. “Hey, sometimes it works. Don’t knock the king, babe. Don’t knock the king. Who do you think taught Grayson?”

I laughed, shaking my head. “Grayson didn’t call me honey cream the first time I met him, if I recall. In fact, nothing of the sort.”

“Well, my teaching has clearly failed.”

The server came and took our orders. Chace went on about some job assignment. In the distance, I heard a baby crying and started honing in on that. Then I heard a loud bang, and I jumped, looking around immediately. Chace grabbed my hand, bringing my attention back to his.

“Hey. You okay?”

I was so focused on him that I didn’t notice our server had sidled up directly behind me.

“Ma’am?”

I screamed as she jumped back, spilling her tray of newly replenished drinks. I placed my hand over my chest and stood up. “You can’t do that! You can’t sneak up behind me.” My eyes started to fill with tears. Chace stood up, placing a calming hand on my shoulder.

I turned to him and the still shocked server. “I’m sorry,” I whispered.

“No, ma’am, I’m so sorry. I’ll have this cleaned up immediately.”

A manager came running over. “Mr. Cartwright. Ms. Ross, our sincerest apologies for that. We’ll seat you at another table immediately.” I saw the manager give the server a stern look.

“It wasn’t her fault. I don’t want anything happening to her job.” I looked at the server, who looked like she was on the verge of tears. The manager looked at her and nodded.

“Of course. Accidents happen. Let us seat you elsewhere, please."

After being seated at a new table, I shut my eyes and took several deep breaths. When I opened my eyes, Chace was staring at me with a look of concern etched across his face.

“Are you okay?”

I slowly nodded. “I still have some anxiety. Some days are better than others. Some days, I’m completely fine. Others, I feel like I’m tunneling down a dark road, and I can’t breathe.” I gave him a weak smile. “But I’m fighting. At least, I’m trying to.”

“You’re stronger than you think you are, beautiful. You’ve fought harder than anyone I know. That’s some hardcore ninja type shit there. You have a bunch of us fighting in your corner for you. Never forget that.” He tapped the tip of my nose with his finger.

Leave it to Chace to be all sentimental and shit. When did that happen?

“You’re sure you’re okay to take me home?”

“Of course.” I watched as he dug around in his pocket. “Shit, I had too much water.” He looked at me and frowned. I swatted him on the chest.

“Go, I’ll wait here.”

“You sure?”

“Yeah, it’s nice out.”

“Okay. Don’t move.” I watched as he jogged back into the building. I turned my face up toward the sun. It really was nice out here.

“Emmalin?”

I turned at the sound of my name, and I froze. I looked back toward the restaurant. “I can’t be here with you. You need to go.” I edged closer to the restaurant.

“I just need a minute, Emmalin, and I’ll be gone.”

I looked behind me. Chace would return soon. “You have about thirty seconds, Dale.”

He smiled. “That’s more than enough time. I just wanted to give you something. He reached into his inner jacket pocket and pulled out an envelope. I eyed the envelope suspiciously.

“Why?”

He cocked his head. “I told you a long time ago, I had business with you.” With that, he turned and left. I stared at the manila envelope before shoving it in my purse.

Chace rejoined me. “Who was that?”

“No one,” I whispered.
