Chapter Six

Charlotte

The rest of the week is much of the same. I spend most of my days filing and making coffee. Other than the odd encounter where the sexual chemistry is obvious, there is nothing to suggest he hired me for anything other than to take care of his office work.

I’m confused, and what annoys me even more is how angry his disinterest is making me feel. Is that all part of his plan—to lure me into self-doubt by breaking down my confidence? Maybe that’s what gets him off. All I know is it bothers me that he’s pretending he’s not interested when he made it clear in the ad and his interview that sex was a pivotal part of this position.

Whether or not he wants to fuck me shouldn’t be what this is about, but I don’t have the time to wait for him. I need to hasten things so I can get this damn story and get back to my life, and if that means seducing him, then that’s what I’ll do. I’ve come this far; I’ll be damned if I’m going to quit now.

If only I was actually any good at seducing men. Jess once likened a lap dance I gave her to drunken clown in the midst of an attack of food poisoning. I glance around my bedroom and shiver. I want to call Jess and get some ideas on seducing him, but the paranoid side of me is wondering if this place is bugged. What if he’s watching me right now? I shiver again and then stand up, my cynicism winning over.

Maybe I should go outside
.

Out in the safety of the rose gardens I can be sure I’m not being overhead. I sit down under a huge tree and dial Jess. She answers right away.

“Thank God. You’re still alive,” she sighs dramatically.

I laugh, watching the leaves rustle in the trees in front of me. “Yep. He hasn’t killed me yet,” I quip.

“So, tell me everything. Is he as hot in person as he looked on the news?”

“Hotter,” I confirm with a chuckle. “Obviously being charged with murder doesn’t agree with the guy.”

“Speaking of, have you found anything yet? Like maybe a body?” She snorts at her own joke and I roll my eyes. “Does he let you out of your cage if you’re a good girl?”

“You’re an idiot,” I giggle. “I have a huge, well-equipped bedroom. You want to know what he’s had me doing?”

“Tell me, you kinky bitch,” she presses.

“Filing.” I reply, my voice flat. “Oh, and coffee. Let’s not forget how important those five double-strength blacks are for getting through the day.”

“That’s it?” she squeaks. “What about the sex? All the fun stuff. And the other girls? What are they like?”

“I haven’t met them. Seriously, I feel like I’m getting nowhere.” I sigh and lean back against the tree, closing my eyes. “Maybe I shouldn’t have said yes, Jess. I feel like a nervous wreck waiting for him to pounce on me. I haven’t slept properly in days, and trying to pretend I’m this confident little sex kitten is wearing me out.”

“So take matters into your own hands,” she replies, her voice a matter of fact.

“What do you mean?” I ask dubiously.

“Look, he obviously didn’t hire you for you filing abilities. Or your coffee.” She snorts. “Trust me, I’ve tasted it.”

“Jess—”

“Put the moves on
him
,” she interrupts. “Maybe that’s what he’s waiting for. Take charge. Seduce him, then once you’re in, find the cracks.”

I roll my eyes again as she giggles at her choice of words.

“God I’m hilarious,” she mutters. “I gotta go, but you can do this, Jess. You know you can. If you ever begin to chicken out, think of Nick and imagine how pissed off he’d be if he knew what you were doing.”

She’s right
. Not only about Nick, but about Jaxon too. The only way I’m going to get anywhere is by showing him that I’m ready and willing to take control. I hang up and get to my feet, a new lease of energy surging through me. It makes sense: he’s sick of dominating women and he wants someone to push him.

Take control
.

It all makes sense now.

***

I walk into his office, clutching his usual tall black coffee. I’m dressed in a low-cut off-white silk shirt and a fitted gray pencil skirt. Like every other day, I’ve forgone underwear because he requested it.

“Thanks,” he murmurs when I set the drink on his desk. “There is some filing waiting in the outbox and I’ll have you do some data entry too. Mundane stuff, but it needs to be done.”

This is it. I’m going to go for it. With every passing minute I’m becoming more and more annoyed with him and his disinterest. If he wants to play, then let’s play. I’ll make myself impossible to resist.

I reach for the stack of papers and purposely let them slide from my grasp. He looks up, startled as they spill to the floor, until he catches sight of my expression. His eyes narrow, a smile tugging at his lips as he watches me bend over to retrieve the papers, my ass in the air.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Murphy,” I say, flipping my hair over my shoulder as the hem of my skirt creeps up over the cheeks of my ass. He rises from his chair and walks over to me, his expression amused. I’m embarrassed because this feels so unnatural, and his reaction is more comical than aroused, which humiliates me.
I’m going to kill Jess.

“Is this what you think I want?” he whispers, his hand grazing my bare ass. I jump as his nails dig into my skin, his open hand connecting with my ass. “Some stupid fantasy of fucking my receptionist?”

“Well, considering all you’ve had me do is your filing, I think it’s a pretty safe bet that I have no idea what you want,” I retort angrily. I’m embarrassed—and still bent over with him pressing against my behind.

“You’re so determined to rush things, Charlotte. Do I make you wet?” he whispers.

I cry out as he slides a finger inside of me.

“Is this what you want from me? Do you want me to fill your sweet little pussy? Make you scream my name? Because I’ll do it. But then you need to do something for me in return. Something so dirty and degrading that you’ll be ashamed of how much you’re enjoying it.”

“What?” I whisper, my knees buckling. My hands lay flat out on the floor as he penetrates me with his fingers. I whimper as his fingers rub violently against my clit. Oh God. I want this so badly.

“It’s no fun if I tell you,” he teases. “But trust me, I mean it when I say you’ll enjoy it. Just say the word, Charlotte. One little word and my cock will be so deep inside you, you’ll feel impaled.”

“Yes,” I whisper. I’ll deal with the consequences of whatever it is I’ve agreed to later. Right now, all I care about is how close I am to climaxing.

I hear the sound of his zipper lowering as he removes his fingers from inside me. Grabbing my hips, he thrusts in. I groan as my legs nearly buckle from under me but his strong arms loop around my waist, propping me up. He’s huge, so much so that every push brings tears to my eyes, but fuck me, it feels good.

I stare at the floor below me, my hands flat against the thick fibers of the rug beneath them as my clit throbs while his fingers massage it. He groans, his slick cock driving deeper inside me. I’m so wet and on the verge of climaxing when he swiftly pulls out and yanks me upright.

“Come over here,” he says, grinning at my wide-eyed expression. He leads me over to his chair, where he sits down and taps the top of his desk. “Sit here.”

My heart thumps as I obey, hoisting my ass onto the huge wooden desk. He reaches into the bottom drawer and pulls out a set of handcuffs, holding them up for me to see.

My heart skips a beat as he locks one onto a small brass hook on the left side of the desk, clasping the other end securely around my ankle. He does the same with my right so I am spread out in front of him.

“Just relax,” he murmurs, standing up. He loosens his tie and slides it from his neck. Standing on the other side of the desk, he lays me back, lifting my arms above my head as he fastens the tie around my wrists and secures them to another hook.

My body trembles as my mind processes the position I am in. I’m tied to the desk, completely at the mercy of a man who was suspected of killing his girlfriend. God only knows what he is capable of doing to me.

I gasp as, one by one, he flicks open the buttons of my shirt. I’m not wearing a bra, because I wasn’t sure if a bra counted as underwear or not. I breathe in as my shirt falls open. He slowly wanders around the desk, his fingers gently running over my arms, then my legs. I whimper as his touch reaches my thighs. My skirt is covering nothing, bunched up around my hips. The way the cuffs are locked into place means my legs are parted, and I cry out as his fingers creep up my inner thigh.

He smirks at me, like he’s enjoying the effect he has on me. I feel so vulnerable and I’m surprised at how much I like it. This is by far the most erotic thing I’ve ever done and my body wants more. The thought that at any moment someone could walk in and see me cuffed to his desk is sending tingles right through me.

“Are you wet, Charlotte?” he asks. He doesn’t wait for me to answer.

I gasp as he slides a finger inside of me. Wet is an understatement. I close my eyes, my nipples hardening as he touches me.

“Oh God,” I mumble, arching my back.

“Open your eyes. I want you to watch me as I fuck you.”

I do as I’m told, fixating my eyes on his. My heart skips a beat as he lowers his zipper, reaching in to free his erection. My body clenches as he nears me, almost as though I’m expecting it to hurt because he is so fucking big, but at the same time I’m aching for him. He rests the tip at my entrance before thrusting himself inside.

“Fuck,” I gasp, grabbing hold of the side of the desk for support. I’m cuffed into place, but with the force of each thrust I feel like I’m about to fly off the desk. “Oh God yes!”

I explode as he plunges deep inside of me, my body spasming into fits of ecstasy. I’ve never been fucked like this. I thought I knew what decent sex was, but holy shit, this experience makes everything else seem dull. He thrusts again, and I feel him release inside me. He bows his head and takes a moment before easing himself out.

He walks around the desk, unlocking the cuffs and tossing them back in the drawer. I lay back, trying to catch my breath, not caring that I’m still on display. He smirks, as though he’s amused by my reaction.

“Your wrists are red,” he murmurs, holding my arm. His fingers rub over the skin where the cuffs dug into my skin. My heart pounds at his out-of-character behavior. I’ve only known the guy a few days, but this is the first show of affection I’ve seen from him.

“I’m okay,” I say, sitting up.

His lips twitch and he reaches out, his fingers stroking my cheek. “You’re better than okay. Did you enjoy that?” he laughs as my blush gives me away. “Charlotte, you need to work on your poker face. I can’t wait to get you out of your comfort zone.”

I bite my lip. Being chained to a desk and fucked six ways to Sunday isn’t getting out of my comfort zone?

Chapter Seven

Jaxon

“Marina, please tell Charlotte she is excused for the rest of the day. Have her be ready at seven p.m. sharp for the function tonight.”

Marina nods, her gray eyes flashing the slightest hint of surprise. “Certainly, sir. I didn’t realize you were attending the function,” she replies.

“I didn’t realize I needed your permission,” I reply pointedly.

Her face flames as her gaze falls downward. I wait until she has left the room before I open my laptop and navigate to my email. I click open my last received message.

Will I see you tomorrow at the function? Dad’s allowing me to go, but only because he thinks you won’t be there. We could probably sneak a moment alone…

I click reply.

I’ll be there and I’m making it my mission to ensure we can be alone. There are things I promised I’d show you once you turned eighteen, and I’m a man of my word.

After Ryan’s outburst the other day I realized this was the perfect opportunity to show him what I was capable of. Tonight he will get a taste of what it feels like to have your world ripped from you.

I close my laptop and stand up, walking over to my window. I can’t concentrate on anything right now. Trying to work is pointless when I’m like this. It takes me all of a second to decide that I’m done for the day.

I browse through the items, looking for the perfect gift for Charlotte. Something unexpected, but at the same time useful. I have so much jewelry, perfume, and lingerie that I could open a boutique. Call them incentives, or whatever. It keeps the girls happy to receive gifts from me when they’ve pleased me. Of course, that’s not what tonight is about. Tonight I need something playful, something for a purpose.

My eyes fall on the small velvet box on the far shelf of the closet.

Perfect
.

I’m waiting at the door when she walks down the stairs. Her eyes meet mine and she blushes. I don’t normally do early, but the opportunity to see her face when she entered the room, knowing those three little balls were deep inside her pussy, was too much to miss.

She walks over to me, holding my gaze.

“I take it you found my gift?” I say, smiling slightly.

“You’ll never know,” she says, tilting her chin indignantly. I chuckle at how wrong she is. She has no idea what’s coming—no pun intended.

“We better get going. We don’t want to keep out guests waiting.”

“Guests?” she repeats, her voice swaying.

She swallows and I see the flicker of uncertainty in her eyes they circle the room. She’s breaking, and I like that. There are women who can put aside their morals and be what I need them to be, and there are women who can’t. Their conscience follows them at every turn.

Nothing turns me on more than showing a woman all the reasons why she can’t handle me.

“Yes, tonight is a work function.” A smile slowly spreads across my lips. “What’s wrong, Charlotte? You can stay composed in front of a few hundred people, right?”

She narrows her eyes at me and I laugh, taking her arm. On more than one occasion I have to steady her, and we haven’t even gotten out to the car. I almost feel bad putting her through this; then I remember how fucking sexy it is. This is probably the kinkiest thing the poor girl has done. My hand fiddles with the remote in my pocket.

Ben Wa balls
. Just wait until they start vibrating.

By the time we arrive at the hotel where the function is being held, Charlotte is looking a little green. I purposely took her over every bump in the road I possibly could, and every time she shot me a death stare.

“Ready?” I ask. Before she can answer I’m out of the car and around her side.

She looks surprised as I hold my hand out for her.

“Always a gentleman in public.”

“Where are we going?” she asks, straightening the skirt of her dress. She looks breathtaking, the black silk contrasting against her porcelain white skin.

“A work gathering to celebrate two of our larger clients merging.”

“And why exactly am I wearing these…things?” she asks, her face flushed.

I laugh and squeeze her hand. “My amusement. Your pleasure.”

I scan the room looking for Ryan and immediately spot him over by the bar. His wife is nowhere in sight, but I can see he isn’t really missing her. My eyes narrow as he leans in and whispers something into the ear of the young brunette sitting next to him. She throws her head back and laughs. The bastard will never change. God knows how many times he’s cheated on his poor wife.

Charlotte shifts next to me and I glance at her. I’d forgotten she was there.

“Would you like a drink?” I ask.

“A wine would be nice. Dry white.”

“I’ll be right back.” I leave her standing by the entrance and make my way over to the bar, purposely choosing the other end where I know Ryan isn’t. I don’t want to make my presence known just yet.

“A dry white and a whiskey, straight up.”

“Jaxon?”

I turn around and see one of our biggest clients, Andrew Stailes. He takes my hand and shakes it enthusiastically. “I don’t often see you at these type of things.”

“That’s because I usually avoid them like the plague,” I quip. Only I’m not kidding. I hate parties or gatherings of any kind. Any situation where I’m forced to pretend I give a shit about the weather, or what so-and-so’s kids have been up to, I’d rather avoid. I’ve never been big on small talk. Even before my parents were killed I was a quiet, introverted child.

I chat to Andrew until I can escape without being overly rude. On the way back to Charlotte I encounter at least a half dozen other associates who insist on stopping me to talk.

“You look annoyed,” Charlotte comments, taking her drink.

“I’m not big on crowds,” I respond, my voice dry.

“Then why are we here?” she smirks.

I open my mouth to reply, but then I see Kasey. My eyes narrow as I take her in. She’s weaving through the crowd, heading toward us. Her eyes catch mine and she winks, nodding to the back of the room.

“See the girl in the red off-the-shoulder dress?”

She strains her head in the direction of Kasey. “Who is she?”

“Remember the other day in my office? I said you would have to do something for me?”

She nods, confusion clouding her eyes.

She
is who you’re going to be doing.”

Charlottes mouth drops open. “Are you serious? You promised nothing illegal.”

I yank on her arm, aware of her voice raising.

“Lower your voice and look at me.” I order calmly. “She’s eighteen, and the daughter of a business associate who needs to be taught a lesson. Relax—I’m not planning on hurting the girl. All I need is a couple of photos of her and you in a compromising position.”

“That’s it?” she says, unconvinced.

“I promise,” I lie, my voice smooth. “You want to prove you can handle me, right, Charlotte? This is your chance.”

Something sparks in her eyes and she nods, determined. “Tell me what you want me to do.”

I smile. That’s my girl. Honestly, I don’t plan to do anything to Kasey other than show Ryan what I’m capable of. To be honest, she’s not my type. She’s too young and way too inexperienced, and regardless of who her father is, she’s a good kid.

I take her hand and lead her in the direction that Kasey disappeared in.

“Come with me.”
