Slowly but
surely I was losing the struggle for power over my own body. Alton showed he
could still read my body and pressed his fingers firmly against my G-spot while
simultaneously working my clitoris with his thumb. The pressure built inside my
body until I was out of my mind with desire for Alton. I had to have him, all
of him, any part of him. Desperately I grabbed his free hand and began to suck
his index finger, which always drove him crazy.

Like
clockwork, an earth shattering orgasm took control of my body. I literally cried
like a baby as the tension flowed out of me. As I came down from the climactic
high, Alton took my hand in his and guided it down to his throbbing phallus.
The flesh was soft and warm, the pulse strong. As I clutched his generous
manhood in my hand he leaned into my ear and licked the lobe ever so gently.

“So you gonna
act right huh?”

“Yes, Yes
Alton.”

“You want to
be mine again?”

“Yes.”

“Let me hear
you say it.”

“Alton, I
want to be yours again. I’m sorry for everything.”

“Nadiah?”

“Yes.”

“As good as
that sounds, it’s too late now. My heart belongs to someone else.” Alton
whispered in my ear before pulling away from me quickly.

He ran behind
his desk and jumped into his slacks quickly. It took a moment to grasp what
he’d just said to me. As I stood there in total shock he quickly put his
clothes on.

“What? Alton,
you don’t mean that. You still love me. I know you do. I saw the way you looked
at me. You know you want me. No woman can be what I was to you?”

“You are
right about that. You were a combination of heartache, sorrow, and pain all
wrapped up in one.

“As hard as
your dick is, you can’t say I didn’t turn you on!”

“It wasn’t
because of you. I just wanted to remind you of what you gave up! Ever heard
that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure? Well, you treated me like trash
but I am Rachel’s treasure now. I don’t love you anymore Nadiah. It’s over! I
have someone who loves me and I will never go back to being miserable with
you.”

“Fuck you
Alton!”

“That’s not
necessary Nadiah.”

“You made a fool
of me! I’m gonna kill you Alton Allen if it’s the last thing I do.”

“So because I
wasn’t weak like you expected you’re gonna threaten my life? You should know
better than anyone how strong I am. I survived you for 7 years.”

“Strong huh?
Your strength is why I needed another woman, to do things right!”

“You really
will say anything to try and hurt me won’t you? I am secure in my manhood so it
won’t work. Besides, that orgasm you just had from just my simple touch says
otherwise. Get out of my office. I don’t want to see you here or at my house
again.”

As I searched
for my dress my anger increased exponentially. I felt like I could literally
just reach in his chest and pull his heart out. My dress was nowhere to be
found.

“I can’t
believe you thought you could come in here, wiggle your ass, and throw some
pussy my way and I would just crumble. I saw your reflection when you came in.
I already knew you were there when I turned around. So while you tried to play
me, you got played. Checkmate!”

That comment
blew the lid off my pressure cooker of anger. I didn’t say anything I just
slapped him as hard as I could.

It must have
stunned him because he just looked at me for about 30 seconds. He didn’t say a
word as his eyes and face grew red. I thought he was about to cry but he
didn’t. He grabbed me and started shaking me. He drew his hand back to hit me,
but caught himself. Instead he reached under his desk and pulled out my dress.
He calmly opened his window, and threw my dress out.

“You bastard!
You just threw a $1200.00 dress out the window!”

“Nadiah you
are next.”

“You just
signed your death certificate. I promise I’m gonna kill your ass. I hate you!”

“That’s it!”

“What?”

“I’m gonna
teach you a lesson.”

Alton came
toward me and flew straight past me to the door and checked the lock.

“I knew you
weren’t going to do anything. I should have known better, you don’t have it in
you.” I said mockingly.

He paid me no
mind as he started running around the office like a mad man moving things and
shuffling papers around.

All of a
sudden he rushed around behind me and put me in a chokehold. Alton then dragged
me over to the window.

“What are you
doing?”

“I’m gonna
put you out of your misery.”

“You’re gonna
throw me out the window? Go ahead I have nothing to live for anymore anyway!” I
said as I pretended to cry.

“Okay.” He
responded as he lifted me in his arms and walked closer to the window.

His response
caught me off guard. I had to think quickly!

“Alton put me
down!”

“Stop kicking,
I thought you wanted to go! I’m gonna give you what you asked for.”

“This fool is
really gonna try to throw me out the window.” I thought to myself.

I began to
panic because I knew I couldn’t overpower him. As I tried to figure out what to
do he started laughing. Alton put me down and laughed hysterically.

“Oh man you
are funny. I wish you could have seen your face. Your eyes were as big as
saucers! Ha Ha.”

There was no
way I was going to stand there and let him mock me. I got my pimp hand ready.
Before my hand made contact Alton grabbed my wrist and swiftly spun me around
and before I knew what was going on he’d tied my hands behind me.

“You never
leave well enough alone. I think maybe I will do everything you did to me. I’ll
start by throwing this glass at your head. Then, I’ll throw my keys so they
land right about ….there!” he said as he poked his finger into my left temple.
I can’t believe it. You have nothing to say Nadiah?” he asked me.

“Kiss my ass,
Alton.”

“Shut up!” He
said grabbing my face roughly.

“What are you
doing?”

“I’m deciding
how long I want to torture you before I throw you out the window.”

Alton had a
gleam in his eyes I’d never seen before. I remained silent because it was
evident that I’d finally pushed him too far and he’d snapped. I quickly began
to reflect on all the horrible things I’d done to him. I’d honestly put him
through hell.

“Since you
wanted sex I think I’ll have my way with you first. Then I’ll shave all that
pretty hair off of your head cause it’ll only get in the way. Then I’ll start
making little nicks all over that cute little body of yours with this razor
blade and soak you down really good with alcohol. When the burning gets nice
and intense I’ll set your ornery ass on fire. My last act will be merciful though.
When I throw you out the window, the wind will cool the flames as you are
falling to your death.”

“Alton, this
isn’t you. I know you don’t want to do that.”

“Shut up! No
talking. You don’t have my permission.”

Since I
didn’t know what his next move was I played it safe and obeyed.

“Don’t look
at me like that Nadiah.”

“Like what?”

“Smile when
you look at me.”

“What?”

“I said smile
bitch! A nice big one!”

As ridiculous
as I felt I smiled like my life depended on it.

“That’s better.
What do you think I should do to you? Give me some suggestions?”

“You should
let me go Alton.”

I barely got
the words out before he grabbed me by my neck.

“See, I allow
you to speak and you say something stupid like that. Shut up and don’t speak again.
Let you go? Why would I do that? I’m tired of looking at you and listening to
you.”

“What are you
doing?”

Instead of
answering me Alton held up a roll of duct tape. He pulled a strip about a foot
long off the roll, tearing it away with his teeth.

“What are you
gonna do with that?”

“I’m gonna
tape your eye lids open. Then I am gonna make you swallow some sleeping pills.
Hahaha! Hahahahaha!”

As Alton
prepared little pieces of tape, the gravity of the situation began to set in. I
couldn’t even justify in my own mind why he should show me any mercy after how
I’d treated him.

“Alton, I’m
sorry. Please don’t kill me.”

“Why Nadiah?
Why shouldn’t I? You tried to kill me. You tried to burn me up. Did you even
know that the heat disabled the electric system and I was locked in that
burning truck? If it hadn’t been for Zeke prying me out, I would have died.”

“I’m so sorry
Alton. I was upset. I’m sorry about everything I’ve done to you.” I said as I
began to cry genuine tears.

“You are
scared now cause you know I have every reason to do any horrible thing I want.”

“Yes Alton,
you have every right to be angry at me. I don’t know what’s wrong with me
sometimes. It’s like I can’t control the things I do.”

“Nadiah
enough with the lies. You can control it. You are just mean as hell that’s all.
I am partly to blame because I spoiled you. All I ever wanted was for you to
love me back and want to be with me as much as I wanted to be with you. My love
blinded me. Even when I knew you didn’t love me, I tried to love you that much
harder and prayed to God for a little bit of your love in
return.”

“Alton you
really did love me didn’t you?”

“More than
you’ll ever know Nadiah.” Alton said.

“Nadiah, I
did this for a reason. You are afraid now because you think I’ve snapped. I’m
not gonna kill you, I never intended to. Don’t you know I could never bring
harm to you? When you pushed me to the brink that last time I had to look
inside myself and really evaluate things. I can never allow you or anyone else
to take me to that point ever again. God lives too strongly in me to submit to
your evil.”

“Will you
untie me? I promise I won’t do anything.”

“Sure.”

Alton untied
my hands and I kept my promise. I kept my hands to myself.

“Nadiah I can
handle it. Although you can’t or won’t see it I am a strong man. Paige on the
other hand deserves none of this. She deserves a mom and a dad. Nadiah you need
to get yourself together. You will not run in and out of her life.”

Alton’s demeanor
was calm, but chilling. I didn’t like the feeling that had come over the room.
I couldn’t explain it, but I felt it, a feeling, and a presence. Instantly I
went into defense mode.

“I don’t know
what you did or what you are doing, but I don’t like it. It’s like you are
doing voodoo in here or something.”

“What you are
feeling is me being real with you. You will have to pay for everything you do
whether it’s good or bad it’s divine order.”

“Yeah okay
Alton, whatever. That religion stuff is alright for you but it’s not my thing.”

“Okay. I’ve
said all I’m gonna say. Wait here while I go and get your dress.”

He had to
really be comfortable that I wouldn’t do anything alone in the office. He left
his briefcase, important blueprints, and everything in the office with me. It
only took him a few minutes to go get my dress. I put it on quickly so I could
leave.

“Nadiah?”

“What?”

“For all it’s
worth you have my forgiveness and my apologies for anything I did wrong.”

I walked out
without turning around. I was afraid to look at him.

As soon as I
got into the car, my friend Joy called.

“Hey girl I
got your message. So how you do you feel?”

“I’m good
girl just figuring what my next move will be.”

“That’s good.
I saw Alton a couple of weeks ago. I hate it that you two split but he looks
happy. What do you think about the wedding?”

“Wedding?”

“He’s getting
married next week. Didn’t you know?”

“No, I
didn’t. Maybe he felt awkward telling me.”

“Maybe.”

“Okay, I
better get busy on all my errands.”

“Okay girl
talk to you later.”

Alton was
getting married to Little Miss Light Bright huh? I had a surprise in store for
him and her both.

Fourteen

Rachel Richards

When Alton
and I returned from our trip, I went straight to work on the wedding plans. We
could hardly wait to get married. It symbolized a new beginning for both of us.
I already knew what I wanted so it didn’t take long for everything to come
together.

I figured a
month and a half was enough notice for everyone to make arrangements to attend when
I set the date and booked the church. Once the booking was confirmed, I ordered
the invitations. Everything happened so quickly that it was like a dream. God
had put this wonderful man in my life just as I thought I was forgotten. Alton
was a gift and a reward for dealing with Elias for so long.

Every day
Alton came home his face lit up when he saw me. No words can explain the joy I
feel to know undeniably that this man truly loves me. I feel it so much in
everything he does, the way he touches me, the way he looks at me, just
everything. Even the small things are big things. Like when I am in the kitchen
cooking and he comes over to me and places his hand on the small of my back
while he lowers his lips to meet mine in a gentle kiss. Or the way he brushes
my hair away from my face, looks at me and smiles just because. I also love the
way he holds my hand when we make love as he sweetly whispers his sensual
praises into my ear. I get weak when I think about the way he holds my body
tightly against his when I shudder in orgasmic bliss. He is my lover and my
protector. I am free to love him without reservations.

We have a
spiritual connection that creates perfect harmony between us. It’s almost as if
I’ve been going through life missing a part of me and now that he is in my life
I am whole. When I talked to Alton in the afternoon he sounded fine but as soon
as we hung up a chilly feeling went through me. I didn’t want to be paranoid so
I pushed it out of my mind. When Alton opened the door I could read in his face
that something was wrong. He came over and kissed me on my forehead before
sitting down.
