“You must be hungry,” she whispered.

“Actually, I’m quite full,” Samuel said dryly. Oh yeah. She was such a dork. Celia blushed as she realized Samuel had just finished feasting on her late stepfather. She should be worried about things like his company or his business or what would happen to the shareholders, but Celia realized she just didn’t give a fuck.

The company had policies in place to deal with stuff like this and her mother’s care was set up to be handled by a trust in the event of his death. Everything would be taken care of. There was literally nothing Celia had to worry about in the world except thanking the man who had saved her.

She should be mad he had stolen her away and murdered her stepfather, but she wasn’t. In Celia’s eyes, Samuel had taken her from a world of misery and rescued her.

“You didn’t punish me,” she whispered.

“What?”

“Earlier, when I sassed you. You didn’t punish me. Instead, you saved me. Why?”

It was the wrong question. She knew as soon as she asked.

“Me doing this wasn’t enough for you?” Samuel asked darkly. “You need something more? An explanation? What are you looking for, Celia? A promise of love? Because I can’t give that to you.”

“No, no, nothing like that,” she tried to soothe him, calm him. She wanted to sate him. She barely knew Samuel, but he had already done this amazing thing for her. He was no young vampire. She imagined he’d been turned a long, long time ago. She imagined he’d been very hurt and very alone.

He could have sent Gordon to take care of Raymond. He could have sent anyone in the house and they would have done what he wanted because he was the Vampire Lord. He was the one in charge of everything.

He hadn’t.

He had done it himself and he’d done it for her.

“I can never repay you,” Celia whispered. “But I’d like to try.”

He stood still then, watching her. What was he thinking? She wanted him to whisper his secrets to her. She wanted him to tell her what he was thinking, what he was expecting. He wouldn’t, though. He was too dark, too broken for anything that romantic and sweet.

Still, Celia didn’t need sweet.

She needed Samuel.

She pressed her hands to his chest and lowered them to the tie that wrapped around his body. She loosened it and allowed the robe to fall open.

“What are you doing?” He asked.

“Worshipping you,” she whispered.

Then Celia dropped to her knees in front of Samuel and took his cock between her lips. She was inexperienced. She knew this. It was only a blowjob, though, and this wasn’t the type of thing she could really mess up. Enthusiasm was half the battle, right?

She sucked him slowly into her mouth. He was already hard, already swollen for her. She wondered if he’d thought about this before. Had he imagined her here, on her knees, kneeling before him?

Celia reached up and cupped his balls, squeezing softly as she took his length into her mouth. He hissed and she began sucking harder, faster. She wanted to please him, wanted to give him exactly what he wanted. That’s what this was all about, right? The whole blood doll thing? It was all about pleasing a man, a master, a vampire.

This was all about taking care of Samuel.

He had taken care of her and now she would take care of him.

Her hands ran up and down his legs as she took his length over and over again. She opened her throat, trying to take as much of him as she could. She tried to remember all the stories her friends had told her about giving head, tried to recall all the tips they had whispered to her. Breathing through her nose, she focused on getting deeper, closer, feeling him as far down as she could go.

Then she felt his hands in his hair.

“You are so perfect,” he murmured. She stopped moving for a second as tears filled her eyes. She’d never been told that before. Not once. No one had ever told her she was perfect and even if they had, she wouldn’t have believed them.

Somehow, she didn’t think Samuel was lying. She didn’t get the impression he said this to all of the girls. He seemed to really enjoy looking at her, talking to her, being around her. After all, he had done something horrible just for her.

He had saved her.

He pulled her to her feet.

“You understand what happens now,” he whispered.

“Yes.”

“Take off your dress.”

She did as he asked. She had been naked in front of him before, even though it had been quite brief. She was a little nervous now, but not much. She was too focused on making him feel good, on feeding him, on letting him have whatever he wanted. Celia didn’t have the mental capacity to feel nervous in this moment.

Her dress fell to the ground and she stepped out of it, then kicked it aside. She was naked now. Her breasts rose and fell with each breath. Samuel’s eyes were glued to them.

“Sweet, pink little nipples,” he murmured, touching them. “And you’re shaved.”

“I heard you liked that,” Celia said.

“I do. Turn around.”

She did as he asked, turning around so he could see her backside. She didn’t mind that he wanted to look at her. It didn’t make her feel strange or embarrassed or cheap. No, Samuel’s commands made her feel sultry, dirty, and powerful. They made her feel like she was in control of her own life for once. They made her feel like she was taking charge of what was going to happen, even if that meant submitting to him.

Submission was, in some ways, a form of power. She was just choosing to give Samuel her power. He, in turn, would give her other things.

Himself, maybe.

His love, his attention.

His body.

His dominance.

“Grab your ankles,” he said. She hesitated for a brief moment simply because she’d never been asked this before. It would make her vulnerable and open, but she didn’t mind. Not really. Not when she thought about it.

Samuel would ask her many things, she thought, and she should be ready for them, for him. She should be ready to respond to him without even thinking about it. She should be ready to do as he asked.

Celia reached down and gripped her ankles, resting her cheek against her arm. She was completely open to him. No more secrets. No more hiding. He could see everything she had to offer and more.

She heard him move.

He was still wearing the robe. She felt the soft silk against her body when he got close to her. Then she felt his fingers on her waist.

“You’re beautiful and sweet,” he said, running his nails down her spine. “I almost hate to defile you.”

Then he plunged his cock inside of her.

Eleven

Celia had never been so filled. She didn’t expect Samuel to fuck her so quickly or so completely, but he did. He fucked her until he was close to coming, then he stopped. He grabbed her, pulled her to the bed.

“On your back,” he murmured. She complied, arranging herself in the middle of the bed, and he climbed over her. Samuel slid back inside her tight channel, fucking her slowly now, deeply.

Celia was close to coming. She could feel the orgasm building inside of her. She had only felt like this one other time, but it hadn’t been this intense, this passionate. Her whole body tightened as Samuel moved over her. He nipped at her neck and shoulders, teasing her. He kissed her lips and she knew they were plump and swollen from their shared passion.

“I’m going to bite you,” he whispered in her ear, licking her lobe slowly.

“I know.”

“It’s going to hurt.”

“It’s okay.”

“I’ll make it feel better.”

“You don’t have to.”

And then he did it. Celia closed her eyes. She didn’t see his fangs elongate, didn’t see him move closer to her, but she felt him. His cock was throbbing inside of her and he was holding her tightly to himself. Then he slid his tongue over her neck, wetting the spot he planned to bite her.

Celia thought in that moment she’d never felt quite so alive or cherished. It was strange, really. She was in a vampire’s bed about to be vampire food, and all she could think about was how special and perfect and naughty she felt. She had searched for a long time to find something that filled her in this way, but she’d never found it. Not until now.

Drinking, random hookups, even the occasional recreational drug: none of them had made her feel the way Samuel was making her feel in this moment. Those things had numbed her momentarily, but Samuel was igniting her. He was bringing her to life. He was forcing her to feel.

Then his teeth were inside of her. The pain of his sharp canines breaking her skin was harsh and fast. She gasped at the intrusion, at the feeling of his teeth inside of her, and she arched up against his body.

Samuel began to suck from her, and that’s when everything became hazy. That’s when everything began to feel good. That’s when Celia’s body began to spiral out of control.

She climaxed, coming hard against him. She clenched his cock between her legs and cried out as the orgasm washed over her body. Oh, it had never been like
this
before. Even when she’d been with the other vampire, with Toby, it had never been like this.

She was drugged, high on him, and nothing would ever compare to the way being with Samuel felt.

Celia was aware of everything in that moment: the way his dick continued to pulse inside of her, the way his breath felt on her neck, the way his nails dug into her skin. Her entire life paused and then, just as suddenly as it had stopped, it began again.

Samuel came inside of her, filling her with his seed. His cock hardened and pulsed and she felt every bit of it between her legs. She cried out, gripping his yellow hair with her hands. He took her wrists and pinned them above her head, drinking from her as he came inside of her.

And then it was over.

It was done.

She was his completely and forever.

He sealed the puncture wounds with his tongue. The healing components in his saliva began to work immediately and Celia could feel her skin closing back together. She doubted she’d even have a scar. In a few seconds, there would be no evidence she’d ever been fed from.

The only thing she’d have to remember were the memories they made tonight.

And Celia never wanted to forget.

***

He lay in bed for a long time after she fell asleep. He didn’t let his dolls sleep with him. Ever. That was nonnegotiable, not that anything ever was negotiable with Samuel. That wasn’t the way he worked. Vampire Lords were unmovable and harsh. They had to be in order to survive. He had an entire mansion of beasts who would be ready to take his place if he showed even the slightest weakness.

Something told Samuel he had found his weakness.

He didn’t want to like Celia, didn’t want to feel this close to her. He didn’t want to have the urge to protect her, yet he did. She was unlike anyone he’d ever met and their connection had been instant. She was fierce and brave, but soft and submissive. When it came to him, he knew she’d do anything he wanted, anything he needed.

And what he needed was her: all of her.

He shouldn’t feel this way.

Couldn’t.

Fucking Gordon.

What the fuck was he thinking, bringing this sweet girl back to him? She was a doll: nothing more. He couldn’t allow himself to feel anything for her. He already did, though. He already wanted to protect her, care for her. He already wanted everything she could give him.

And that frightened Samuel more than he was ready to admit.

Harper had fucked him up, broken him. Harper had been everything to him and then she was gone. There was a reason there weren’t more female vampires. There was a reason he wasn’t supposed to turn people, especially not women.

Never women.

Samuel got up and put on his robe. He needed to think and he couldn’t do that around her. He looked back at Celia once more, spread out on the bed. Her dark hair looked lovely sprawled across the red pillowcase. He wanted to stay with her in bed forever, but that couldn’t happen.

He couldn’t let it.

He might be a king without a queen, but there was a reason he was alone. He might never be able to tell Celia the truth. He might never be able to make her understand why tonight couldn’t happen again. He couldn’t feed from her anymore. She would have to go back to the doll room.

She would have to.

He left the bedroom and closed the door quietly behind him. As Samuel walked down the hallway, he allowed his thoughts to drift. It had been years since Harper died, but it felt like only a day. She had been sweet and tender, like Celia, but she hadn’t been as strong. He already knew that. He had loved Harper more deeply than his cold heart should have allowed, but he couldn’t argue with the way he felt.

She had been his darling.

“Don’t do it,” Gordon said, coming to walk alongside Samuel.

“Don’t do what?” Samuel growled.

“Whatever it is you’re thinking about. I know that look. You’re going to regret it.”

“Don’t fuck with me.”

“Let’s get a drink.”

“Fine.”

Samuel knew his friend was going to start hammering on about something and he could use a drink if he was going to have to deal with Gordon. Gordon wasn’t the type of vamp to just forget. He wasn’t going to let Samuel move on and start fucking the other dolls again.

Gordon knew exactly what he was doing when he brought Celia home. He knew exactly how Samuel would react when he heard about her plight. He knew Samuel was a big fucking softie when it came to a woman in need.

That had always been his problem, hadn’t it?

He had tried to save Harper and now he was going to try to save Celia. No, he wasn’t. He wasn’t even going to cry. He had barely survived Harper’s death and now he couldn’t allow himself to feel. He couldn’t allow himself to spend too much time thinking about Celia. If he did, he might sink into her and never come up for air.

He might never leave his bedroom again.

They reached the sitting room and Gordon pushed the door open. Samuel walked in and headed straight for the bar at the back. He ignored the vampires in various states of undress around the room. This was the unofficial party room. This was where the fun happened. This was where the magic began.

Luke and Tony were side-by-side on one of the sofas with dolls riding them. Their fangs were sunk into the girls’ necks and judging by the contented expressions on everyone’s faces, they were all happy with the arrangement. Another girl was blowing a vamp in the corner and there were a few random vamps talking by the fireplace.

Samuel grabbed a bottle of bloodwine and poured himself a glass. He downed it much too quickly. The alcohol slid smoothly down his throat, but it wasn’t her. It wasn’t Celia. It didn’t taste like her.

And that was what he wanted. He wanted her: more of her, all of her. He hated he felt that way, but he did. He couldn’t change the way he felt. Not at this moment. Not at all. Not ever.

“She got into your head,” Gordon said.

“You fucking think?” He poured another glass, drank it. Samuel started to pour a third, but Gordon took the bottle away and set it back on the bar.

“Enough,” Gordon said. “Sit down.”

He pushed Samuel into a chair, then snapped his fingers. Jade appeared at his side and looked up at him.

“Master?” She whispered.

“I think Samuel needs some assistance, doll,” he whispered, but even Samuel wasn’t drunk enough to miss the way he looked at Jade. There was affection there, devotion. If Samuel didn’t know Gordon better, he’d say he felt something more than just hunger for Jade.

“Of course.” Jade climbed on Samuel’s lap and straddled him. She pressed her lips to his ear, then whispered. “How can I be of assistance, Samuel?”

But when Samuel closed his eyes, it was Celia he saw: not Jade.

Not anyone else.

Only her.

He growled in frustration, but sat still as Jade began to grind on him, dancing slowly. She was wearing only a bra and panties, and her soft skin glowed in the pale light of the room. He held onto her waist as she danced, pressing her breasts against him. She whispered things to him, things he wouldn’t be able to remember later, but that made him feel good in the moment. Still, he imagined it was Celia whispering, he thought of her soft body pressing against him. He closed his eyes and breathed, focused only on the way he felt.

And when he opened his eyes, Celia was standing in front of him.
