Crystal stood next to Anna’s three mates, all of them dressed smartly in their best uniforms, and at Vadim’s side stood Bella!

Anna practically ran to her friend for a hug. After a long embrace, she drew back and stared at Bella. “What are you doing here?”

“As your best friend, I’m hoping you’ll ask me to be something called a maid of honor.” Bella’s eyes shone with humor.

Anna’s gaze swiveled back to her three mates and their beaming smiles. Even Vadim was grinning broadly.

“Surprise!” they chorused, and the crowd of friends cheered.

Then Crystal held out a white dress to Anna. “Come, my friend. We must make you presentable for your ceremony.”

“C-ceremony?” Anna stuttered with disbelief. She turned to her three men. “You did this? You planned a ceremony without telling me?”

Vadim lost his smile first. “You do not like the surprise?”

“Yes! No! I mean this is amazing.” She waved her hand to include the decorated room and her friends. “I can’t believe you did all this. I thought you’d decided against a public display.”

Marco stepped toward her. “We discussed, as we promised you we would. And this is what we decided—to make you our bride. To declare in front of all your friends that we honor and love you.”

Tears sprang to Anna’s eyes at his use of the L-word. It was the first time in her life she’d ever heard it used for her.

Kojo and Vadim crowded close to her sides.

“You want to declare that too?” she asked, looking at one then the other.

They nodded solemnly and answered, “We do.”

“Wait! Wait!” Crystal called out. “Not yet! We have to get the bride in her dress first!”

A delicious laugh burst from Anna as she wrapped her arms around her mates. She’d never felt so buoyantly happy in her life, and she couldn’t wait to see what other surprises they’d have for her during their lifetime together.
